Meet my friend Dave Siegel. Dave is a photographer in Phoenix, but works all over the country for major advertising agencies and destination resorts. He has several specialties over the course of his career, and is now focused on the spa/resort industry.

I met Dave a long time ago. He was at a large studio co-op, and I had heard that he was looking for an assistant. I applied. He had another person in mind. We never worked together. Maybe that was a good thing… heh.

These days, Dave spends most of his time on location. The rare studio shot is almost an event these days, but he maintains the large, fully coved studio that he has been in for decades. I have my office there as well.

Meet Dave and see his print portfolio after the jump.

Dave and I had a bit of a discussion in the studio recently, and I made a video. Take a look and listen to a very successful photographer in a small market.

Here is a look at some of the prints from his print book. Dave rarely shows the print book these days, as most of his work is done online. Website, word of mouth and a consistent email campaign are what is working for him these days. I think you will enjoy this look at his book. He discusses the images a bit as well.

A few shots from his website:

Thanks for visiting with us at Lighting Essentials. I hope you enjoyed the interview with Dave. Visit his website to see some more of his work. If you have any questions, ask them in the comments and we will try to get Dave to get them answered.

I am off for Detroit later today. Workshop this weekend. Full week next week, then to Chicago. I hope to send you some stuff from the road, and if I can video some of the workshop, that will be shared as well.

As always – follow me on Twitter, learn more about the workshops, and find out more about me if you like.
