FOOD AS ART WORKSHOP

ZOOM LINKWelcome to the 8-week Food Photography Workshop at Lighting Essentials.
As explained on the information page, this class will focus on fresh, “farm to table” foods, and prepared dishes. If you decide to do prepared and styled food, this is the book you should be using as a sort of “text book”. I would suggest you pick up a copy of it for the class. Kindle is fine, but it is nice to have a paper book with sticky notes and bookmarks. (Note: this is not a requirement.)
Food Photography: From Snapshots to Great Shots by Nicole Young
This book is the bible for food styling and I may refer to it from time to time. It is a bit more expensive than the other book, so I am not going to require or suggest you buy it for the class. I do suggest that if food is your goal, this book is an absolute must.
Food Styling: The Art of Preparing Food for the Camera by Delores Custer.
If you currently own a food styling book, no problem. I am sure you will be able to find what you need in it. No worries about having to purchase these books.
This will be a fun, and natural flow course. We will examine many different styles of shoot food while encouraging you to find your own voice and create masterpieces for your portfolios.
Before we go any further, we want to get some important information out of the way. Please watch the video below.
