Last year I did a Black Friday Free Event that was really a blast.

While everyone and their cousin is trying to sell you something I am going to give it away free.

This year we have prizes and giveaways all day as well as tutorials, training, and special guest interviews.

There is no charge for any of this stuff.

It is my way of giving back to the wonderful community of photographers that I enjoy so much.

John McAllister, UK, will present a breakdown of some of his more recent work created especially for his portfolio. John is most known as a still life and food photographer, but he has been adding people to his offering and these portfolio images shot at an estate are simply incredible. He will show us how he planned and executed some brilliant fashion shots in a very short amount of time.

Short run magazines are all the rage right now for self-promotion. I will walk you through the basics of building a 12-page promo for your work. Using Photoshop and InDesign, we will craft a finished piece and you will learn how to create your own promo with fewer hassles.

Adrian Harrison, AU, started shooting food only a year or so ago and is already working fairly steadily for ad agencies, restaurants, and cooks in the greater Sydney area. We will discuss his decision to start shooting food, how he ramped up his portfolio from zero to hero, and the general commercial shooting climate in Sydney.

Organizing a Portfolio
Learn how to make your images flow when shown in a fixed design. We will look at the different ways images can pair for viewing side by side, and how to keep the viewer going from image to image. We will be using real images for a real portfolio.
